>The Center for Human Services is glad to announce Northshore Special Families 2nd Annual Can Do 5K/10K fundraiser! Northshore Special Families is a parent-led community of families with children with special needs; it is dedicated to create opportunities for inclusion for these children and their families.
Last year was Northshore Special Families first Can Do 5K, and it was organized to create awareness of what children with physical or developmental disabilities Can Do. The Can Do 5K/10K brings the community together in the spirit of inclusion and awareness.
The money raised through the Can Do 5K/10K will help offer new and increased opportunities in our community for these special families, such as inclusive and specialized camps, on-going education, and support with guest lectures and workshops.
This race includes:
- 5K Run
- 10K Run
- 5K Walk
- 1 Mile Walk
- Team Registration
- Family Registration
- Kids Dashes
- Numerous volunteer opportunities
- Fun for everyone in the family!
There will be prizes for 1st place overall male and female finishers, as well as for top fundraisers and Team events.
Registrations are now open and if you have been looking for a kid and family friendly activity to get everyone involved in… then this is the time and place for you!
The Can Do 5K/10K will bring runners, individuals, teams, and families together for a special day to celebrate what we Can Do as a community. Supporting families with children with special needs through a sponsorship of the Can Do 5K/10K is a step toward making our community more inclusive for everyone.
